Ever growing excitement, packing, final tecnical details… We are at the end of what’s left of straight road before our first Hopineo Tour.
Evaluation of the last few weeks before the Tour de France
We have been busy ever since we are dedicated to Hopineo full time, near on a month. From conferences, to meetings and telephone calls acting as jury for the Paris Jeunes Aventure trophies, we have had multiple opportunities to weave our web and get to know the tourism sector in general, and sustainable tourism in particular. Thanks to the different associations that structure the sector (such as ATD, CITR or VVE), and to the people that are shaping it every day (like EVEA Tourisme or Professor JP Lozato-Giotart) and to the different hosts that we have had on the line to optimize our itinerary, each new enlightenment has been very informative.
We are full of courage that we are on the right path, and the unanimous reception from our interviewers are just as encouraging to proceed, and cover the roads of France collecting and creating concrete solutions in this field that will allow professionals of the sector to make their activites sustainable on a daily basis.
Crowdfunding, beyond expectations
46 official contributors (4 unofficial), 8 books by Ludovic Hubler (Le Tour du Monde en Stop, 5 ans à l’école de la vie), 6 travel photos by Liliane Clément, a weekend at Domaine de la Rhonie, another at Les Cabanes des Grands Lacs in Jura, 1 game Terrabilis, 41 post cards, 50 luggage tags and 4 ´apéros´ with us !
This last month has been equally dedicated to the first financing campaign for Hopineo. The aim was to collect 1.500 euros to finance half of the audiovisual material needed, to cover the good practices and the life of the team. It was a great test, which showed our project in further details, to our close ones and less close people, allowing us to evaluate the level of interest and implication of each person in the project.
In the end, it was the entirety of the audiovisual material that got financed, out by just 112 euros.
We await with impatience for the arrival of the luggage tags that were coming from Dakar (the photos are promising) and we hope to be able to send all the contributors their counterparts before next Tuesday, the day we head towards Normandy.
40 establishments, 12 missions, 100 Hopinnovations, 2 rucksacks, 4 legs, 1 camera
So here we are, putting the finishing touches to our preparations. There are a few estblishments left to be contacted to ensure even more fruitful collaborations with which to enforce sustainable tourism. We need to pack our bags, pick up our hitch-hiking sign, in the Hopineo colours (see the image above), switch the website into ´On Tour!´mode and enjoy the evening of the 28th June, (80, Quai de Jemmapes from 7pm) where everyone has come together to join us in celebrating the departure point of Hopineo!
You can follow us on the videos and articles that we will be posting on this website, under the title Tour de France, And of course, you can spread the word in the tourist establishments that you may be visiting this summer, share it, ´like´it… The more people know about it, the more sites will participate and learn about our sustainable practices and the more useful we will be and the more the sector will grow!
Forward march !
