We were relating a few days ago (or maybe weeks? already??) our Week-end by the sea, West from Abidjan, where we discovered La Résidence des Etés and the NGO Jacqueville Propre. But a lot of other things happened during this month in Côte d’Ivoire… We now tell you everything!
La Côte d’Ivoire
First, it appeared to us of a certain importance to present to you a little bit of this country, often unknown.
Côte d’Ivoire is a West African country, former French colony, which turned independant in 1960. Until the 90s, its coffee and cocoa productions made it one of the major country in West Africa.
But since the beginning of the 2000s, Côte d’Ivoire went through major political crisis, that didn’t really help to make it a first choice destination for tourism.
Today, Côte d’Ivoire is on the way to emergence, with a 8.6% growth, a calm social climate, and wishes that (responsible!) tourism development become a priority, especially cultural tourism and agrotourism.
Nevertheless, tourists are still rare in Côte d’Ivoire and responsible tourism facilities are not easy to find.
We take on this occasion to share with you a few images as well as our itinirary in the country.
