One month in Sine Saloum
We can’t decently start this articte without thanking Anne-Catherine who had the kindness to make us come and receive us in her amazing eco-lieu d’Afrique in Sine Saloum. Without thanking the whole team of La Source aux Lamantins, for their warmth and their intensive Wolof lessons. Without thanking Djiby, an amazing guide, for taking us everywhere in the area (to be absolutely contacted if you go there: +221 77 967 68 12). Without thanking the talented Diegane, thanks to who we especially have wonderful new Hopineo bags. Without thanking all those we had the chance to meet (and I cannot write down any name, too scared to forget someone, but a huge thanks to all!).
This month was rich. One month goes fast and slow at the same time. One month is enough to get attached, to be part of the landscape, to build real relationships, to feel like at home. But one month, it goes really fast and we didn’t had time to get bored. We will soon post our HopTrip #Swap works.
A successful crowdfunding campaign!
February has also been the month of the end of the crowdfunding campain, ending with up to 105% of the initial goal, meaning €4200 (more or less 70% goes to Hopineo), that will allow us to make the website even more user friendly :). Again, a big big thanks to all the contributors, to all those who shared and contributed, and even to those who haven’t contribute because we know that deep inside, they do really sooprt us :). More news here on the Hopineo blog.
And if you didn’t get the occasion to contribute during the campain and you want to support Hopineo, you can do so here.
Meanwhile, the bags that we proposed during the campaign are leaving Dakar for Paris soon to meet their new owners!
HopTour West Africa continues!
Back in Dakar. The opportunity for a little diner with friends tonight, and tomorrow, let’s hit
the road the sea again, to the Casamance! A boat for 14 hours on … a sit (no beds left available for us)! It seems that we will sleep on the floor on our bags because this is also what travelling is :). It is with Xavier, that accepted the HopTrip #Swap with his travel agency, that we will make a tour for a week in this area of South Senegal, below the Gambia. We might not have any internet connection so talk to you … soon!
